SETTINGS allows studio management to customize TRF app. Seven settings tabs organize the options intuitively.
Settings: The STUDIO Tab
Your STUDIO tab is the absolute foundation of TRF app. Here, you lock in your shop’s vital details, artist roster, local health codes, and security access. Everything you configure here dictates what actually prints on the final client waiver.
To get started, tap the menu (the three lines) in the top right corner of the main screen and tap SETTINGS. You will need to enter the Master Passcode (the default is 1234). Note: The Artist Passcode will not get you in here. We designed it that way to keep wayward staff from accidentally (or intentionally) messing with your shop's core settings.
Uploading Your Studio Logo
Your shop’s branding fronts the entire client experience.
Look to the left sidebar and tap the TAP HERE TO ADD YOUR LOGO box.
You can AirDrop your logo to the iPad or select a well-lit, landscape-oriented image from your camera roll.
Always tap the yellow SAVE & VERIFY button to lock it in.
Address Formatting
Your legal waivers and the postal service require accurate addresses. TRF app easily adapts to where your shop—and your clientele—are actually located.
USE U.S ADDRESS FORMAT: Leave this checked if your shop is in the States. Uncheck it if you are international, and TRF will adapt the fields for non-US postal layouts.
MOST CLIENTS HAVE U.S ADDRESSES: If you operate a shop in Barcelona, you want your local clients using their native address format, not a US layout. Uncheck this if you are outside the US. (Don't worry, clients can still manually override this during their intake if they are traveling from out of town).
Adding Your Artist List
Keep your roster current. Tap the artists listed button to open the ADD STUDIO ARTISTS menu.
Type the artist’s full legal name into the input field and tap + ADD.
Tough love moment: Do not use nicknames or Instagram handles here. This app generates a legally binding document that you might actually need to rely on in court one day. Use real, legal names.
To remove an artist, tap the red minus icon next to their name. Hit DONE when finished.
Studio Credentials & Health Codes
Fill out your STUDIO POPULAR NAME and STUDIO LEGAL NAME. Both are strictly required to generate a legally strong release form. (Note: The TRF system automatically slaps the words "TATTOO STUDIO" at the end of the legal name on the final PDF, so you know. Fill in your full address, phone number, website, and official shop email.
API KEY & LOCATION ID: These fields are strictly used to link TRF with TattooNow studio management software. If you don't use TattooNow, just ignore them and leave them blank. And if you're not hip to that software, Conan plays no games when he says this: hit that link and contact Gabe. Just rap with him. He will strap the rockets to your career for less than you spend on coffee each month.
HEALTH CODES: All local and state health codes govern your studio. Tap to input your specific health department codes (e.g., COMPLIES WITH 555-51C). If you don't know them, check your old paper waivers, ask your attorney, or call your local health department to get the current codes.
Security Passcodes
TRF app uses two distinct passcodes to keep your shop's backend secure and prevent staff from changing your settings.
Master Passcode: This is the skeleton key for management. It unlocks the entire Settings dashboard (Default is 1234).
Artist Passcode: This is floor access. Management sets one shared code for all artists. It lets your crew search the returning client flow, preview waivers, and sign the Artist Notes pane. It completely blocks them from your subscriptions and backend shop configurations.
Forgot Your Passcode? (How to Reset)
It happens. The reset link is available on every passcode screen throughout the app. However, only management can actually complete the reset because it strictly requires signing into the official Google account used to initially set up TRF app.
Step-by-Step Passcode Recovery:
Trigger the Reset: Tap Forgot Passcode? on any passcode screen (just above the number pad).
Verify Account: Tap VERIFY WITH Google and tap Continue to allow the iPad sign-in prompt.
Sign In: Select the exact Google account you originally used to set up TRF app.
Set New Codes: Type in a NEW MASTER PASSCODE. (Optional: Enter a new Artist Passcode here too, or leave it blank to keep your current one).
Save: Tap the yellow RESET PASSCODES button.
Once you see the green SUCCESS! checkmark, tap OK and get back to work.
TRF App Login & Devices
TRF APP LOGIN: This is a simple text field near the bottom of the screen. Enter the exact email address you used to originally set up TRF here. Many shops forget which account they used or confuse their Apple and Google logins. If you ever need technical support, having your official login saved right here tells us exactly "who you are" and saves your studio a massive headache.
DEVICES: Mostly ignore this. This displays the UDID (Unique Device IDentifier)—basically the digital fingerprint of the iPad you are currently holding, plus any other iPads sharing your subscription. A quick-copy button next to it lets you easily paste that long number into support emails. No studio has ever needed to provide this for support, but we wanted to be sure we could help if you got in a tight spot.
One Last Thing: Once you set up TRF app exactly how you want it, TRF automatically backs it up to the login credentials you provided. If you ever need to add another iPad or upgrade to a new one, just log in at startup, and all your tedious legal bits, artists, and settings will be waiting for you, safe and sound.
