TRF App Settings

Settings: EDITORS Tab

TRF is designed for customization. Based on your studio's vibe, beliefs, and legal requirements, choose the health questions and legal clauses you present to your clients. Easily document the tools and pigments used in your sessions, which will be recorded on every waiver. Proving compliance with health laws is automatically assured.

SETTINGS allows studio management to customize TRF app. Seven settings tabs organize the options intuitively.

Customize your TRF App with the Editors Tab

The EDITORS tab gives you full control over your digital waivers—from mapping out custom health questions and iron-clad legal clauses to logging the exact pigments, needles, and disposables used during a session.

By building your shop’s custom supply lists here, your artists can rapidly log their setups into the Artist Notes Pane after every session. This eliminates the headache of remembering what colors were used on a client’s last session and helps keep your shop compliant with local health codes.

How to Access the Editors Tab:

Tap the three-line menu icon (top right) on the Welcome Screen.

Tap SETTINGS.

Enter your Master Passcode (default is 1234).

Tap the EDITORS tab at the top of the screen.

Health Editor

You have total control over the health questions presented to your clients. TRF comes preloaded with standard industry health screening questions, but you can hide, add, or reorganize them to fit your shop's needs.

Tap EDIT HEALTH QUESTIONS to configure the following:

1. General Health Inputs

Present Medications input: Toggle this ON if you want clients to type out their current medications.

Present Time of Last Meal input: Toggle this ON to ask clients how many hours ago they last ate (crucial for monitoring blood sugar and preventing fainting).

2. Allergies, Diseases, and Health Conditions
Under the ALLERGY, DISEASE, and HEALTH CONDITION headers, you can manage the specific ailments clients must disclose.

Tap Tap here to edit allergies list (or diseases/conditions list).

Show/Hide Options: Tap the eye icon next to any item. If it’s gold, clients will see it. If it’s grey with a slash, it’s hidden.

Reorder the List: Tap and drag the six-dot handle on the left of any item to move it up or down.

Delete an Option: Tap the red trash can icon to remove it entirely.

Add a Custom Option: Tap + ADD NEW ALLERGY (or disease/condition), type the name, and tap DONE.

Save Your Health Editor Changes:
Once your lists are dialed in, tap DONE on the pop-up, scroll to the bottom, and tap SAVE. When the CONFIRM ACTION popup appears, tap SAVE again. Finally, tap the gold SAVE & VERIFY button on the left-hand sidebar to lock in your changes.

Legal Editor

You dictate exactly what your clients agree to before they sit in the chair. TRF is preloaded with battle-tested clauses we’ve gathered from the industry since 2013, but you can edit, delete, or build your own from scratch.

Tap EDIT LEGAL CLAUSES to open the Legal Clause Editor. A welcome tip screen will appear. Read it and tap OK.

Formatting & Assembling Legal Clauses
If you are moving from paper waivers, we recommend copying your existing legal text from a digital document (like Google Docs) and pasting it directly into the editor.

Insert Shop Name: Wrap your shop name in brackets <MyStudio> to automatically place it in the clause.

Bold Text: Wrap specific words in HTML tags <B>NO WHINING</B> to embolden them on the final PDF waiver.

Editing, Reordering, and Adding Clauses

Edit: Tap any existing clause to open the EDIT CLAUSE popup. Adjust the text and tap SAVE CHANGES.

Move: Tap and drag the six-dot handle on the left of any clause to rearrange the order clients read them.

Delete: Tap the red trash can on the right to remove a rule.

Add New: Scroll to the bottom and tap ADD CLAUSE. Type or paste your new rule into the text box, then tap the ADD CLAUSE button.

Minors vs. Adult Clauses (Automatic Swapping)
Scroll down to the EDIT MINORS CLAUSE section. TRF automatically reads the birthdate your client enters during setup.

Adults (18+): See the standard adult liability clauses.

Minors (Under 18): TRF dynamically swaps to this specific Minor Clause. This is the legal text the parent or legal guardian sees before they are prompted to add supporting documents (photos of their ID, proof of guardianship, parent signature, and typed name). You can edit this minor-specific clause by tapping on it.

Restoring Defaults & Saving Changes

If you ever mess up or want to revert back to TRF’s original, iron-clad templates, tap RESTORE DEFAULT CLAUSES at the bottom right. This will overwrite any custom changes.

To lock in your edits, tap SAVE at the bottom, then tap SAVE again on the CONFIRM ACTION popup.

Finish by tapping the gold SAVE & VERIFY button on the main settings screen.

Pigment & Thinner Editor

Health codes regarding ink tracking are getting stricter. To keep your shop compliant, artists can select the exact pigments and thinners used during a session from a custom shop list.

Tap EDIT PIGMENT & THINNER LIST.

Choose either Tap here to edit pigment brand list or Tap here to edit thinner list.

Reorder: Grab the six-dot handle on the left to move your most-used brands to the top.

Add New: Tap + ADD NEW PIGMENT BRAND (or thinner), type the brand name, and tap DONE.

Delete: Tap the red trash can to remove brands you don't stock.

Restore: Tap RESTORE DEFAULT PIGMENT BRANDS to bring back TRF’s preloaded industry standards.

Once finished, tap DONE, tap SAVE, confirm the action, and hit SAVE & VERIFY on the main menu.
(Note: Brands added here will populate a dropdown menu in the Artist Notes Pane, allowing the artist to quickly select the Brand, Color Family, and Specific Color used).

Needle Editor

Artists can intuitively dial in their groupings on the final waiver, but management must define the needle categories available in the shop. TRF is preloaded with industry standards like Magnums and Rounds.

Tap EDIT NEEDLE LIST, then tap Tap here to edit needle types list.

Add a Sub-Type: Tap the grey "+ Add New Magnum" (or Round) button inside an existing category to add a specific configuration (e.g., Stippling).

Add a New Category: Tap + ADD NEW NEEDLE TYPE at the bottom to build a completely new grouping category from scratch.

Delete: Tap the red trash can next to a primary category to remove it.

Restore: Tap RESTORE DEFAULT NEEDLE TYPES to reset the list to TRF defaults.

Tap DONE, tap SAVE, confirm the action, and hit SAVE & VERIFY.

Grips & Tubes Editor

If your shop uses disposable tubes and grips, you can track them on your waivers to prove proper single-use setups to the health department.

Tap EDIT GRIPS & TUBES LIST.

Choose either Tap here to edit disposable grip list or Tap here to edit disposable tube list.

Add New: Tap + ADD NEW DISPOSABLE GRIP (or tube) to add your shop's exact inventory.

Reorder/Delete: Drag the six-dot handle to organize the list, or tap the red trash can to remove outdated supplies.

Tap DONE, tap SAVE, confirm the action, and hit SAVE & VERIFY.

Salve Editor

Keep a legal record of the specific glides, lubes, and salves used during the tattoo process (this does not include aftercare).

Tap EDIT SALVE LIST, then tap Tap here to edit salve list.

Tap + ADD NEW SALVE to add specific brands to your shop's menu, type the name, and hit DONE.

Rearrange with the left handle, delete with the right trash can, or tap RESTORE DEFAULT SALVES to reset.

Tap DONE, tap SAVE, confirm the action, and hit SAVE & VERIFY.
